All orders from our website start as a Cash On Delivery Order.

Add all desired items to your cart

Go to Checkout and Select Shipping-Virginia- and then your preferred Pick-Up Location.

When you submit your order, select your preferred final payment method. We will receive your order on the backend and verify that we can accommodate your order. Once we confirm your order you receive specific instructions to pay for your order through your preferred method.

About us

M.C. Homestead LLC is a family operated homestead. Starting small with poultry and waterfowl, one day we hope to become a ranch and help to re-establish the eastern plains bison. It is our goal to provide a multitude of services that allow families and our communities access to fresh quality foods and agricultural services and products.

We feel that the happiness and lifestyle of our animals greatly impacts the quality of what we harvest, so we hold ourselves to a high standard when it comes to the care of our animals and the environment they live in. We operate on a reduce-reuse-recycle mindset, utilizing everything we can before considering sending it to the landfill.

All of our of our operations honor and align with mother nature and natural process, bettering our lives, the lives on our homestead, and ultimately improving and protecting the environment around us.

Its our mission to provide our family, and yours, healthy, fresh, homestead grown and made products.

We will be breeding and hatching chicks and ducklings starting in the 2026 season!

Our first breeding groups will focus in two areas:

Our hens thrive on a handcrafted blend of Kalmbach feeds, wholesome grains, and free-range foraging — for eggs as natural as they come.

We believe healthy birds produce the best eggs and meat. That’s why our chickens enjoy a proprietary blend of premium Kalmbach Feeds, carefully customized here on our farm. Each recipe is tailored to the needs of our flock including growing chicks, pullets, active layers, and roosters.

What’s in Our Feed Program

• Premium Kalmbach Base Feeds – A foundation of balanced nutrition designed for strong growth, healthy feathers, and reliable performance.

• Farm-Crafted Blends – We mix our own rations on-site, adjusting ingredients to match each stage of life: chicks, pullets, layers, and roosters.

• Whole Grains & Scratch – Small amounts of cracked corn and mixed grains support natural foraging behaviors.

• Herbal Additions – We rotate in herbs like oregano, garlic, and calendula to support immune health and overall vitality.

• Free-Choice Oyster Shell – For laying hens, this ensures strong, beautiful shells.

All of our birds enjoy the great outdoors, wind in their wings, sun in their feathers, and the ability to free range all day every day!

Due to mother nature and all it's considerations, egg production can fluctuate. Reviewing every order and confirming availability prior to accepting your order helps us provide our birds a healthy life, honor natural processes, and still provide you the highest quality products and customer service.

This does sometimes mean we may have to delay, adjust, or cancel orders based on availability and production. Standing Recurring orders will have precedence over one-time and new recurring order requests. We will notify you if these reduction steps are necessary, however we believe it is highly unlikely that we will need to take these actions.

We personally review and carry your order through every step of the process.

If we do not have the availability to meet your requested order you will be provided with alternative options to fill your order, or a no-fault cancellation can be provided if you prefer. Please note that you must provide an email address to receive reminders and notifications.

What happens when mother nature takes the reins?

Egg requests are reviewed to ensure we have the appropriate supply to meet your demand, if we have the availability for your order you will receive an email stating that your order has been accepted, you will also receive an email when your accepted request is being packaged and inspected, a 24 hour reminder will be provided if your order was place more than 48 hours from the pick up date and time.

We have been baking Mason Cakes for over a decade, perfecting the combination of ready to eat cake, frosting, and filling in a jar. Some flavors can last up to 3 weeks on the counter-longer if refrigerated!

Custom Cakes

Providing you with cakes for any special occasion we can help you decide what size cake is right for your special event. We specialize in carved cakes and buttercream art, however we still provide stacked and fondant cakes as well.

How to get your order

Local pick up at the homestead is available in addition to pick up points along routes and at destinations we commonly travel.

You can pick up at the Homestead by appointment only, located in Dinwiddie near 703 and Route 1.

We are offering Pick-Up Points along the following routes and locations:

• Dinwiddie to South Hill to Chase City (85 and VA47)

• Alternative route Dinwiddie to Nottoway CH through Victoria / Lunenburg to Chase City (460 and VA49).

• Much of this coverage area will be available Monday and Wednesdays in the afternoons, sometimes travel to Lunenburg on Saturdays/Sundays, willing to expand this coverage area and availability.

• Petersburg (Multiple routes, areas, and times)

• Colonial Heights (Multiple routes, areas, and times)

• Powhatan (Multiple routes, areas, and times)

• Midlothian (Multiple routes and areas, focused on 288, 150, and Midlothian Turnpike)

• Much of this coverage area will be available for weekday pick up and occasional weekend pick ups.

• Anywhere in between!

If you would like to see about establishing a Pick-Up Point location let us know, since we are just starting up we are open to establishing Pick-Up Points in the listed and surrounding areas, times will be scheduled on an order by order basis until we can better identify areas, times, etc that work for us and you!
